The Monterey Fairgrounds is set to be transformed into a spectacle of wonder and awe as Zoppé: An Italian Family Circus brings Carnevale di Venezia to life from December 1-11, 2023. The entire family will travel on an exquisite journey through time, delving deep into intrigue, extravagance and celebration of life and art that is the essence of Venetian Carnevale. You’ll hold your breath as you watch the Ladder of Death, a staggering demonstration only one family in the world performs. You’ll feel the rhythmic drumming of horse hooves as they travel around the ring. You’ll experience a dynamic acrobatic troupe from Kenya, well-loved canine capers that will have you laughing and clapping with delight, and a host of diverse and exciting performers from around the globe. Representing 7 generations of circus artists, the Zoppé family invites you into their Big Top home to experience the true meaning of circus–family, support and community.
