MLK Jr. Holiday Celebration and Concert

Join us for this wonderful celebration of MLK Jr.’s dedication to civil rights! All free to the public including concert and lunch. Monterey County Pops Orchestra will perform a beautiful concert composed by African-Americans from 1230pm-130pm. A southern lunch from 1130am-1215pm will be provided free to the first 250 guests and is catered by Marina’s own Kona Jerry. Lunch will include fried chicken, red beans and rice, cornbread and salad. An inspiration ceremony from 1215pm-1230pm will include the following 3 speakers: Kamilah Magied and Phuong Nguyen (both CSUMB professors), and Steve Zmak of Marina. Cold weather moves this event to Rocky Han Community Center, 211 Hillcrest Ave., Marina, CA
