Thank you!) \n-NM \nBoilerplate stuff follows: \nBe it a book\, blog\, script\, essay\, dissertation\, zine\, resume\, melody\, poem\, or just plain work stuff\, you are invited to write it with us. Robert’s first professional band won a coveted BAMMIE for best Bay Area Band\, but that was just the beginning. The performance of the band 3.2 runs through Robert’s recording and performing career from A to Z. Some highlights are his time with ELP band mates KEITH EMERSON and CARL PALMER. The band had a top 10 song in 1988 called Talkin’ Bout. From there Robert joined the Sammy Hagar band until the call from AMBROSIA came. During the 80’s and 90’s when Robert was performing on tour with these bands he was also involved with a record company in New York called Magna Carta Records. He had the top song on many tribute albums to icons like Yes\, Jethro Tull\, and Genesis. Those re-envisioned versions of classic songs are performed during a 90 minute set by Robert’s top notch band. On keyboards\, from New York\, is one of the best rock keyboard players on the music scene now\, Andrew Colyer. Drummer\, Jimmy Keegan is well known as having played with Spock’s Beard. Robert’s long time musical side kick and ace guitar player Paul Keller rounds out the quartet. They’ve been playing together since the Hush days. A history of Robert’s progressive rock music performances with storytelling from his travels\, 3.2 featuring Robert Berry will have some musical connection for everybody in your audience. Please check out the YouTube promo video below. The 27 city tour in 2019 was a huge success. In fact there is a live album coming out of their headlining performance in New Jersey at ProgStock. The band is anxious to get back on the stage and will be performing a few West Coast shows before heading east starting in Florida April 14 at RoSFest. \nArtist sites and sounds: SEE SHOW PREVIEW AT https://youtu.be/w2AJJo8Ik_k and http://www.robertberry.com

SUMMARY:The Hero’s Journey
DESCRIPTION:An evening of chamber music by Beethoven\, Prokofiev\, Stravinsky\, Boulanger\, and Dorfan\, performed by Ben Dorfan and his colleagues.\n\n\nIn this concert\, we explore the theme of overcoming challenging circumstances. \n\n\nBeethoven’s Op. 11 Trio is a product of the composer’s return to health after a severe illness. Prokofiev’s iconic Op. 119 Cello Sonata signifies a remarkable victory over Soviet-era censors. Stravinsky’s compact masterpiece the Suite from L’Histoire du Soldat\, came to be when the 1918 flu pandemic made it impossible to perform the original theater version. Completed in the final year of her life\, Lili Boulanger’s energetic D’un matin de printemps is seemingly an act of defiance towards her declining health. Initially programmed for SCCP’s 2019-2020 season\, Ben Dorfan’s Clarinet Sonata will be a world premiere! \n\n\nThis concert will bring out the hero in all of us! \n\n\n\nThe performers on this concert are: \n\nBen Dorfan\, Concert Director and Piano\nJeff Gallagher\, Clarinet and Narration\nShannon Delaney D’Antonio\, Violin\nKristin Garbeff\, Cello\n\n\n\nCOVID-19 Health and Safety Requirements \n\nAll tickets must be purchased online or through the mail prior to the concert.\nProof of full vaccination with picture ID required on entry.\nFace mask mandatory until further notice.\n\nClick here for more information about the Santa Cruz Chamber Players and our current season.

SUMMARY:Gabriel Fauré and His Circle of Influence\, Part II
DESCRIPTION:An evening of chamber music by Martinů\, Boulanger\, Saint-Saëns\, Kodály\, Bloch and Fauré\, performed by the Nisene Ensemble.\n\n\nGabriel Fauré (1845-1924) was one of the most influential of French composers\, linking the end of Romanticism with the beginnings of the modern era. He was a founding member of the “Societe Nationale de Musique” along with Camille Saint-Saëns who was Fauré’s mentor and lifelong friend. Saint-Saëns also taught Eugène Gigout\, who eventually taught Bohuslav Martinů after Martinů moved to Paris in 1894. After being appointed to the faculty of the Paris Conservatory\, Fauré taught many young composers and one of the most well known of these was Nadia Boulanger who herself became sought after and mentored many of the leading composers of the 20th century. One of Nadia’s students was Suzanne Bloch\, daughter of her close friend Ernest Bloch. In her student years\, Nadia also studied organ with Charles-Marie Widor along with Zoltán Kodály\, who had come from Hungary to study with Widor. \n\n\nMadrigal for Violin and Viola Bohuslav Martinů \n\n Poco Allegro\n\nThree Pieces for Viola and Piano Nadia Boulanger \n\nModere\nSans vitesse et a l’aise\nVite e nerveusement rythme \n\n Romance for Cello and Piano op. 36 Camille Saint-Saëns \n\nModerato\n\nIntermezzo for String Trio Zoltán Kodály \n\nAllegretto\n\nThree Nocturnes for Piano Trio Ernest Bloch \n\nAndante\nAndante Quieto\nTempestoso\n\nIntermission \nPiano Quartet No.1 op. 15 – C minor Gabriel Fauré \n\nAllegro molto moderato\nScherzo\nAdagio\nAllegro molto\n\n\n\n\nThe Nisene Ensemble are: \n\nCynthia Baehr-Williams\, Concert Director and Violin\nChad Kaltinger\, Viola\nKristin Garbeff\, Cello\nKumi Uyeda\, Piano\n\n\n\nCOVID-19 Health and Safety Requirements \n\nAll tickets must be purchased online or through the mail prior to the concert.\nProof of full vaccination with picture ID required on entry.\nFace mask mandatory until further notice.\n\nClick here for more information about the Santa Cruz Chamber Players and our current season.
