Housing and Habitat Resource Fair
February 2 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join us on Sunday, February 2 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Aptos Village County Park!
As part of the Wildlands Urban Interface (WUI) Research for Resilience: Addressing California’s Climate, Conservation & Housing Crises initiative, the Center for Critical Urban and Environmental Studies, with aligned community grassroots and government organizations, will host a third Housing and Habitat Community Resource Fair in the north coast of WUI designated areas across Santa Cruz county – where the fringes of development reach natural areas.
Together with the Long Term Recovery Group of Santa Cruz County , the following organizations will be on site: Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), United Policyholders, Community Bridges, FireSafe Council of Santa Cruz County, Recover California, Second Harvest Food Bank, Dignity Health Mobile Clinic, Equine Evac of Santa Cruz County, SLVEN – SLV Emergency Response Network, American Red Cross.
Our Resource Fairs accompany our surveying and interviewing people in fire and flood impacted areas to better understand the communities moving to and staying in these areas, including their housing history, affordability pressures, and needs in terms of disaster preparedness, mitigation and recovery. Participants will receive a $20.00 gift card after completing the survey. Come learn about and get help with disaster preparedness, hazard mitigation, recovery from fire and floods, housing resources and tenant rights. Also, free food! Arts & crafts & games for kids!
The first took place on July 20th at the Boulder Creek Recreation Center, the second on October 6th in Davenport, and our third one will be in Aptos.
